Talk about "empty nest syndrome" I'm too young to experience that! haha The nest is completely empty on Day 16. Actually, the last baby that was in the nest yesterday took till late in the evening to finally fly away. She was sooooo frightened all alone and to make matters worse, we had a loud thunderstorm. She kept sitting up in the nest, all fluffed up trying to make herself look big and calling out to dad over and over and looking all around. I felt really bad. But I think that was the way of trying to get her out of the nest.

There is no site of the mom and dad nor the babies, the yard is completely silent, other then some finches eating seed from the back feeder and the chipmunks trying to sneak back to their home without my dog catching a glimpse of them.

It's been a great experience and I hope all of you who joined me through this enjoyed your experience as well. Be sure to share this experience with your family, children, grandchildren etc. It's not something everyone gets to see in their lifetime.
