Roughly around July 9th, 2004, an American Robin decided to
camp out on my porch to have her new children. The nest was
built in less then a day and is only 6ft from the ground, allowing
me a front seat row for the whole thing!
Click here to learn about the American Robin. It will open in a new
window as the information is from someone else's site.
The female Robin incubates it's eggs for 14 days.(sure wish it
was that way for us women!) I am starting
this site on what I think is the 6th day of incubation. If I
get lucky enough, I will be able to get daily shots of the baby
Robins when they hatch as well.
JULY 14TH, 2004
.........................
If I have my days right, this should be the 6th day of incubation. The
weather is just crappy for this poor mom, but she has picked a great spot.
She is sheltered from all the wind and rain and only has to endure
the nasty weather to feed.
It is on this 6th day that she no longer flies away when I approach her nest
and actually lets me get quite close to snap photos. I am sure
she will be blind by my flash soon!
On to day Seven.....! >>>
